Coeliac Disease is a result of an immune response to gluten in some foods causing damage to your gut. Treatment is by eliminating gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and oats from your diet.

Because of the damage to your gut and its affects, Coeliac Disease can have long and short term health impacts. This March Coeliac Australia are raising awareness of the link between Iron Deficiency and Coeliac Disease.

The symptoms of Coeliac Disease vary hugely. If you have gut symptoms or symptoms of iron deficiency, including fatigue, weakness and lethargy take the Coeliac Australia Self Assessment or have a conversation with your GP.
